About The Australian Sikh Awards for Excellence

The Australian Sikh Awards for Excellence is an initiative of Sikh Youth Australia (SYA), in partnership with Young Sikh Professionals Network (YSPN).

The Australian Sikh Awards for Excellence (ASAE) stands as a premier national platform dedicated to celebrating the unsung heroes of our community. Born from a powerful vision to honour those who drive Australia’s socioeconomic development, the ASAE shines a spotlight on extraordinary individuals who consistently go above and beyond for the greater good.

These awards do more than simply recognise individual brilliance. They amplify the richness of Sikh values, to honour and strengthen our cultural identity, and create definitive pathways for our trailblazers to achieve national and international acclaim.

A Legacy of Growth and Prestige

From a groundbreaking inaugural gala in 2023 to a spectacular ceremony in 2024, the ASAE has rapidly evolved into a highly anticipated hallmark event on the Australian calendar. After an incredible first two years, the ASAE will now be held every two years. We are thrilled to invite the community to our next landmark celebration in 2026.

Today, the ASAE gala consistently commands the room. It is a night of unparalleled prestige, attended by influential media personalities, prominent politicians, and esteemed leaders from every corner of the Australian Sikh diaspora.

Championing Excellence and Sevā

For over two centuries, Sikhs have been a part of Australian history, growing into a vibrant community of more than 210,000 proud individuals. Time and again, Sikhs are among the first to step forward in times of need, contributing meaningfully to society with quiet humility and without seeking recognition.

Spanning eight dynamic categories, including Business and Enterprise, Agriculture, Community Service, and Sports, our finalists represent outstanding expertise and achievement. Yet, the defining quality of every ASAE nominee is their steadfast commitment to Sevā, the Sikh tradition of selfless service.

By bringing these powerful stories to the national stage, the ASAE serves as an inspiration for future generations. We are proud to empower the leaders of tomorrow to live with purpose, lead with pride, and make enduring contributions to the society they call home.

The Australian Sikh Awards for Excellence is an initiative led by Sikh Youth Australia (SYA).
